When I opened the bag I was happy to found that no bugs were found as it happened to me with other bags of soil. I replanted 7 plants. It looked perfect. After a couple of days I found two of them (geraniums or " malvones") started to look bad and before they looked beautiful. Sometimes plants suffer with changes. The plants worsened and I checked the leaves and they were sick. I cleaned leaf by leaf in both plants. I was not lucky, I could not revive them. However, the other plants did not suffer for the moment. I believe that perhaps the soil contains something that affected this type of plants. I still don't know what to think.To expensiveThe soil is rich,airy and light. It has a strong earthy smell. It is very moist even when dried out. You can tell it has a lot of nutrients. The soil didn't have bugs in it but yes it is more likely to attract fungus gnats even if you don't overwater. In this case, I ordered rice hulls from organic mechanicsoil.com as a mulch and worked like a charm!!! I had tried sprinkling cinnamon onto the soil but it didn't do much. Perhaps I did overwater but I have a water meter and constantly checking with my fingers to make sure. This soil retains moisture really well so I recommend the soil be moved around from time to time but overall my plants are growing lots of new leaves and I'm so happy!!!!I really liked it my new plants adapted very nicely to it . I m thinking of ordering more.I wish I could leave zero stars like product deservesI didn’t snap a picture of it but it’s all mulch and rocks with weird stringy things and it basically killed everything I had grown in my miracle grow power organically soil. I wouldn’t recommend this product as it was a HUGE waste of money and now I have to regrow it all! So I wish I could return it but I put the dirt in pots so the bag was empty but go with a better soil because this is not the one!Having lived in Northern California, I've been trying to find organic soils from Northern California or Souther Oregon for a while. Am so glad to be able to get these soils delivered. To get this NPK-rich recipe soil with ~20 ORGANIC components (crustacean meal, seabird guano, worm castings...!) is a dream. It's a little expensive to ship soil across the country, but totally worth it. At some point everyone will be using organic soil for what they're eating or smoking. Spring came early here, so started my son's venus flytrap in Zen Blend (see pic). Soil is light and rich. My son says it "smells like the Earth." Am excited for the season.Incredible organic soil. This company is doing it right. I use it for house plants and growing micro greens. Will definitely purchase again.This is expensive but I would definitely buy it again. I planted 6 plants and only one plant is in this type of soil. That plant is twice as big and absolutely beautiful
